Materials:
Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, Size 50, White, 1 ball.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 10.

Center section: Ch 28, turn. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in each st across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Skip 1st s c, s c in next. S c across to within last s c, ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until work comes to a point and fasten off. Attach thread at end of foundation ch and work along other side of ch with s c in each st across, ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row as before, until work comes to a point. Then fasten thread at end of founda­tion ch, ch 15, s c in st from which c h started (to make loop). * Ch 6, s c into loop, repeat from * 30 more times, turn. Next row: 2 knot sts, s c under 1st ch-loop be­low. * 2 knot sts, s c under next ch-loop. Re­peat from *. After last loop, make 1 knot st, join with sl st in 1st row of center section. Ch 1, sl st in 1st st of next row. Turn. Next row: 2 knot sts, skip 1st knot st of last row, * s c under double loop of next knot st, s c under double loop of next knot st. Make 2 knot sts. Re­peat from * along row, ending with 1 knot st joined with sl st to next row of center piece. Turn. Repeat this row for 13 rows of knot sts, joining ends of rows to center section. Then make row of knot sts, with a ch-5 picot between s c's. Finish off. Attach thread at other end of foundation ch and work other side to correspond.
