Materials: Choose one of the following threads in White or Ecru:
Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, size 50, 8 balls.
J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 50, 6 balls.
J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, size 50, 3 balls.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 12.

When completed, head rest measures about 25 x 13 inches, and each arm piece about 7 x 13 inches.

Gauge: 7 sps or bls make 1 inch; 7 rows make 1 inch.

Head Rest. Starting at bottom, make a chain (about 22 ch sts to an inch) to measure about 27 inches long. 1st row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in each ch across until there are 526 d c in row, counting turning ch as 1 d c. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3 (always to count as d c), turn. 2nd row: D c in each of next 6 d c (2 bls made), ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c (1 sp), 3 more sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 1 bl, 5 sps, 1 bl, 13 sps, 1 bl, 5 sps, 1 bl, (4 sps, 1 bl) twice, 3 sps, 1 bl, (4 sps, 1 bl) 5 times, 21 sps, 1 bl, (4 sps, 1 bl) 5 times, 3 sps, 1 bl, (4 sps, 1 bl) twice, 5 sps, 1 bl, 13 sps, 1 bl, 5 sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 2 bls. Ch 3 turn. Hereafter follow chart until head rest is completed.

Arm Pieces. Starting at bottom, make a chain to measure about 8 inches, turn. 1st row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in each ch across until there are 148 d c in row, counting turning ch as d c. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: D c in each of next 6 d c (2 bls made), ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c (1 sp made), make 3 more sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 1 bl, 5 sps, 1 bl, 13 sps, 1 bl, 5 sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 2 bls. Ch 3, turn. Hereafter follow chart until piece is completed.
