The Jeweled Collar Pattern

Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" NYLON
1 oz. Med. Pink or color of your choice

The Famous "PURITAN" STAR SPANGLED MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON, Article 40
2 balls Pink Spangle or color of your choice.
Plastic crochet hook size F for nylon.
Steel crochet hook No. 1 for "Puritan" Crochet Cotton.
160 Small pearl beads.
4 Medium pearl beads.

Collar is worked with a double strand of yarn or thread throughout.

Ch 78, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn (14 ½ inches).

2nd Row: 1 s c in each of the next 8 sts, 2 s c in next s c, * 1 s c in each of the next 11 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * 4 times, 1 s c in each remaining s c, ch 1, turn.

3rd Row: Work even in s c, ch 1, turn.

4th Row: * 1 s c in each of the next 11 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * 5 times, 1 s c in each remaining s c, ch 1, turn.

5th Row: Work even in s c, ch 1, turn.

6th Row: * 1 s c in each of the next 12 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * twice, 1 s c in each of the next 11 s c, 2 s c in next s c, * 1 s c in each of the next 12 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * once, 1 s c in each remaining s c, ch 1, turn.

7th Row: S c in 1st s c, tr c in next s c keeping st to front of work, s c in next s c, * tr c in next s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * across row, ch 1, turn.

8th Row: 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts, 2 s c in next st, 1 s c in each of the next 12 sts, 2 s c in next st, * 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts, 2 s c in next st, repeat from * twice, 1 s c in each of the next 12 sts, 2 s c in next st, 1 s c in each remaining st, ch 1, turn.

9th Row: Same as 7th row.

10th Row: * * 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts, 2 s c in next st, * 1 s c in each of the next 14 sts, 2 s c in next st, repeat from * once, repeat from * * once, 1 s c in each remaining st, ch 1, turn.

11th Row: Same as 7th row, cut yarn. With right side of work toward you, attach yarn at neck edge, work in s c down side of collar, across lower edge and up opposite side of collar working 3 s c in each corner, join, cut yarn.

TIE: Using 3 strands of yarn (each strand about 1 ½ yards long), ch 56, leaving about a 2 inch length at each end, cut yarn. Separate strands of yarn at one end, draw a strand of yarn through 2 pearls, tie a couple of knots below pearl, fasten remaining strand, trim end. Attach opposite end to collar at neck edge. Work another tie in same manner and attach to opposite side of collar.

With matching "Star" Mercerized Sewing Thread, sew small pearls on the s c's between the tr c's as illustrated.
