Materials: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 1 ball.
Clark's O. N. T. or J. & P. Coats Six Strand, 1 skein each of 4 colors for embroidery.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7.
2 buttons.

Starting at center back, ch 13, turn. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: S c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row for 7½ inches. Then ch 13, turn. Next row: S c in 2nd s c from hook, s c in each ch across, s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Following row: S c in each s c across, 2 s c in last s c. Ch 1, turn. Next row: 2 s c in 1st s c, s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat these last 2 rows until there are 31 s c in the row. Work straight for 1 inch, ending at increase edge. At beginning of next row and at same edge on every other row, decrease 1 st until 26 sts remain. Then decrease 2 sts every row until 19 s c remain. Break off. Make another piece same as this. Sew the two pieces together across center back. Then attach thread at neck edge and work a row of sl sts across so that neck edge measures 20 inches; then make a row of s c all around outer edges. Break off.
