Completed doily measures about 11 inches in diameter.

   Starting at center ch 16, join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 1, 24 s c in ring. Join to 1st s c. 2nd rnd: Ch 7 (to count as tr tr), 2 tr tr in same place as sl st, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr tr; thread over and draw through all loops on hook—a 3 tr tr-cluster made; ch 5, 3 tr tr in same place as last cluster, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr tr; thread over and draw through all loops on book—another 3 tr tr-cluster. * Ch 5, skip 2 s c; in next s c make cluster, ch 5, cluster. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, skip 2 s c, sl st in top of 1st cluster. 3rd rnd: Ch 3 (to count as d c), * 5 d c in next ch 5 sp, d c in top of next cluster. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of 1st ch-3. 4th rnd: Ch 6, * skip 1 d c, tr in next d c, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to 4th st of ch-6. 5th rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, * ch 3, (tr in next tr, ch 3) twice; 2 tr in next tr, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr—a 2 tr-cluster made; thread over and pull through all loops on hook. Repeat from * around. Join. 6th rnd: Ch 5, d tr in same place as sl st, * ch 3, d tr in next tr, ch 4, d tr in next tr, ch 3, a 2 d tr-cluster in top of cluster below. Repeat from * around. Join. 7th rnd: Ch 5, d tr in same place as sl st, * ch 3, d tr in next d tr, ch 6, d tr in next d tr, ch 3, a 2 d tr-cluster in top of cluster below. Repeat from * around. Join. 8th to 11th rnds incl: Same as 7th rnd, only making 2 more ch sts between d tr on each rnd, (there will be 14 ch's between d c's at end of 11th rnd). Join.

   12th rnd: Ch 5, 2 d tr in same place as sl st, holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr; finish as before. * Ch 4, d tr in next d tr, ch 16, d tr in next d tr, ch 4, a 3 d tr cluster in top of cluster below. Repeat from * around. Join. 13th rnd: Ch 5, 2 d tr in same place as sl st, holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr; finish as before. * Ch 8, s c in next d tr, 16 s c in next sp, s c in next d tr, ch 8, d tr-cluster in top of cluster below. Repeat from * around. Join. 14th rnd: * Ch 4, sl st in same place as last sl st, in next ch-8 make (3 s c, p) to make a p, ch 4, sl st in last s c twice; 3 s c, ch 16, in next ch-8 make (3 s c, p) twice; 3 s c, sl st in top of next cluster. Repeat from * around. Join, and fasten off.
