Towel Edging with Rick-Rack Pattern

COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. TATTING-CROCHET, Art. C.21, Size 70: 1 ball each of No. 1 White and No. 46 Rose.
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 14.
½ yard each of pink and white rick-rack No. 7 … A grey guest towel.

Braid rick-rack together and fasten ends securely.

HEADING1st row: Attach Rose to first point, sc in same place, * ch 3, sc in next point. Repeat from * until piece reaches across towel, having a number of points divisible by 3 and 2 more at end of row on each side of rick-rack. Cut off remaining rick- rack. Ch 6, turn. 2nd row: Skip first sc, * dc in next sc, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Break off.

SCALLOPED EDGE1st row: Attach White to first point on opposite side, sc in same place, * ch 3, sc in next point, ch 7, tr in next point, ch 7, sc in next point. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 3, sc in last point. Break off. 2nd row: Attach Rose to first ch-3 sp, sc in same place, * ch 9, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 9, sc in next ch-3 sp. Repeat from * across. Break off. 3rd row: Attach White to first loop, sc in same place, * ch 7, holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr, make 3 d tr in next ch-5 loop, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made), ch 5, sc in tip of last cluster, ch 7, sc in next 2 loops. Repeat from * across. Break off. Sew Edging to towel.
