Tassel Shade Pull Pattern

J. & P. COATS BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, Art. A. 104, Size 30: 1 ball of Ecru, or
CLARK'S BIG BALL MERCERIZED CROCHET, Art. B.34, Size 30: 1 ball of No. 61 Ecru.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

TASSEL COVER ... Starting at center with 2 strands, ch 2. 1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 3rd rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased). Repeat from * around. 4th rnd: Sc in each sc, increasing 7 sc evenly around. Now make sc in each sc around until piece measures  1¼ inches. Break off.

TASSEL ... Cut a cardboard 3 x 4 inches. Wind a double strand of thread 300 times around the 4-inch length. Break off. Draw a double strand of thread under one end and tie securely. Cut opposite ends.

Wind a piece of thread several times around Tassel 1⅛ inches from top. Tie ends securely.

CORD ... Cut 10 strands of thread, each 1 yard long. Twist these strands tightly, then double these strands and give them a twist in the opposite direction.

Draw Cord through top of Tassel to replace tied thread at top. Draw Cord through Tassel cover and sew cover in place. Trim ends of Tassel evenly.
