MATERIALS REQUIRED—American Thread Company "Dawn" Knitting Worsted.

1–1¾ or 2 ounce Skein each of White and any Contrasting Color.

Bone Crochet Hook No. 3 or 4.

With White, ch 18, (about 3 inches) work 17 sts on ch and work 1 more row.

* Next 2 Rows—Decrease 1st at the beginning of each row and work 2 rows even, repeat from * then decrease 1 st at the beginning of each row until 1 st remains, break yarn and work 5 more sections.

With Color—Crochet all sections together and work 4 rows of s c around lower edge.

With Color—Crochet a ch about 18 inches long, work a row of s c on ch, break yarn leaving an end. Form 2 loops and sew in position on top of hat.
