Materials:
Chadwick's Red Heart Knitting Worsted, 3 balls (1 oz. balls) of Wood Brown
Bone Crochet Hook No. 7
22 inches of millinery wire
2 quills

Pillbox ... Starting at center of top with double yarn, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: 12 sc in ring. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around (24 sc). 3rd and 4th rnds: Sc in each sc around (24 sc on 4th rnd). 5th rnd: Same as 2nd rnd (48 sc). 6th, 7th and 8th rnds: Same as 3rd rnd (48 sc).

Overlap ends of wire to make a circle 6½ inches in diameter. Fasten securely by winding and tying with thread.

9th and 10th rnds: Working over wire in order to conceal it, make sc in each sc around. 11th and 12th rnds: Same as 3rd rnd (48 sc). 13th rnd: * Sc in 6 sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc (a dec). Repeat from * around (42 sc). 14th to 17th rnds incl: Same as 3rd rnd (42 sc). 18th rnd: * Sc in 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around (48 sc). 19th, 20th and 21st rnds: Same as 3rd rnd (48 sc). 22nd rnd: Same as 13th rnd (42 sc). Sl st in next 2 sc. Break off. Roll edge up under wired edge.

Headband … With double yarn, ch 54. Join with sl st in 1st ch made, being careful not to twist the chain. 1st rnd: Ch 1, sc in each ch around (54 sc). 2nd rnd: Sc in each sc around. Sl st in next 2 sc. Break off.

Put Headband on head. Place Pillbox at desired angle and pin to Headband. Sew in place. Sew quills on Pill­box as illustrated, or to suit individual taste.
