ABBREVIATIONS FOR INSTRUCTIONS

The following abbreviations are used throughout the book:

K-Knit.
P-Purl.
ch.-Chain.
beg.-Beginning.
s. c.-Single Crochet.
d. c.-Double Crochet.
d. p.-Double Pointed Knitting Needles.
stock. st.-Stockinette st. (K 1 row, P 1 row).
decr.-Decrease (take 2 stitches and work off as one).
incr.-Increase (add 1 stitch).
* (asterisk)-When this appears, continue working until instructions refer you back to this symbol.
even means that it must be worked without increasing or decreasing.
Pull sts. tog.-Break your yarn and leave about 10 inches. Thread a tapestry needle and pull this needle through the remaining stitches.
sts.-Stitches.
st.-Stitch.
m. c.-Main Color.
c. c.-Contrasting Color.
garter st.-K every row.
p.s.s.o.-Pass the slipped st. over the K st.

To Make Hairpin Lace Strip:

Hold hairpin loom in left hand with points and guide at bottom, tie a loop around loom with a knot in center between prongs, always keep yarn at back of work.
