A round pillow 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep … Walco Sew-On Crystal Rhinestones, No. 1236, 1 envelope … Walco Beads and Fancy Spangle Kit, No. 402, 1 envelope … Walco Assorted Fancy Spangles, No. 404, 1 enve­lope … Scraps of black felt … A few yards of White Embroidery Floss.

GAUGE: 6 sc make 1 inch; 6 rnds make 1 inch.

SIDE … Starting at center, ch 2. 1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 3rd rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc (an inc). Repeat from * around. 4th rnd: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. 5th rnd: Sc in each sc, increasing 6 sc evenly spaced and being careful increases do not fall over previous increases. Repeat 5th rnd until piece measures 12 inches in diameter. Break off.

GUSSET … Starting at narrow end, ch 13. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 38 inches. Break off.
   Indicate numerals with sequins and beads. Cut hands and center of felt. Appliqué in position. With right side of work facing, hold one side of pillow to long edge of gusset and, working through both thicknesses, make sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st in first sc. Turn. Sl st in each sc around. Join and break off. Sew narrow ends of gusset. Insert pillow and join second side of pillow to opposite edge of gusset in same manner.
