MATERIALS:
J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. PEARL COTTON
, size 5, 3 balls will make 2 pot holders.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 6.
Cotton fabric for lining.
A bone ring for each pot holder.

Starting at center, ch 2. 1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in 1st sc made. Ch 1, turn. Hereafter work in the back loop only of sc's. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each st around. Sl st in 1st sc, sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn. 3rd rnd: 2 sc in last sc made, * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * around, ending with sc in last st, sl st in 1st sc, sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn. 4th rnd: 2 sc in last sc made, * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * around, ending rnd as before. Continue in this manner, increasing 6 sc on each rnd "(at points), having 1 additional sc between in-creases on each following rnd, until piece measures 6 ½ inches from side to side across center. Fasten off.

Pad and line pot holder (for padding, see pattern book). Sew ring to one point.
