Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED or "DAWN" NYLON of Knitting Worsted Size

43 ozs. Kelly Green.

Plastic crochet hook No. 6 or H.

Each motif measures about 8" by 11 ½". 45 motifs are required for Afghan. With White ch 51, turn, pick up and pull loop through 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th st from hook, leaving all loops on hook, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook, ch 1, (the ch 1 is termed the eye of the st), * pick up and pull loops through eye of st just made, side loop of star st, next 2 chs, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook, ch 1, repeat from * across row (24 star sts).

Row 2. Ch 3, turn, pick up and pull a loop through the 2nd and first st of ch, top of star st in previous row, eye of next star st in previous row, yarn over and pull through all 5 loops on hook, ch 1, * pick up and pull a loop through eye of star st, side of star st just made, top of star st in previous row, eye of next star st in previous row, yarn over and pull through all 5 loops on hook, ch 1, repeat from * across row. Repeat Row 2 until 15 rows have been worked. Without cutting yarn work a row of s c around entire motif working 1 s c in eye of each star st and 1 s c in the 3 sts between eye of each star st on short sides working 3 s c in each corner st and 1 s c in each st across top and lower edge. Work 21 more motifs in White and 23 motifs in Green. Sew motifs on wrong sides picking up both loops of each motif, alternating colors having a Green motif in each corner. With right side of work toward you, attach Green at corner of lower edge, work 3 s c in same space, * ch 1, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * across lower and upper edges working 3 s c in each corner and 1 s c in each s c across each long side, cut yarn.

FRINGE: With Green cut 10" length. Using 3 strands, double in half and loop through each ch 1 mesh on short sides. Trim fringe evenly.
