Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" ORLON High Bulk Fingering Yarn or "DAWN" ORLON POMPADOUR High Bulk Fingering Yarn
8 ozs. White.
1 oz. Baby Blue or colors of your choice.
Plastic crochet hook size E.
GAUGE: 5 rows = 2 inches. 3 patterns = 1 inch.

With White chain (ch) 209, double crochet (d c) in 3rd stitch (st) from hook, * ch 1, d c in same space keeping last loop of d c on hook, skip 1 st of ch, d c in next st keeping last loop of d c on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, repeat from * across row ending with ch 1, d c in same space, ch 2, turn.

2nd Row. D c in ch 1 space, * ch 1, d c in same space keeping last loop of d c on hook, d c in next space keeping last loop of d c on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, (pattern) repeat from * across row, ending with ch 1, d c in same space keeping last loop of d c on hook, d c in ch 2 keeping last loop of d c on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 2, turn.

Repeat 2nd row until work measures 7 ½ inches.

Next Row. Work across 27 patterns (opening for pocket) ch 2, turn.

Repeat last row 6 times, cut yarn. Attach yarn in 28th pattern of last complete row worked (counting from side of pocket) and work in pattern across row, ch 2, turn.

Work 6 more rows even in pattern.

Next Row. Work in pattern across 76 patterns, then work across remaining 27 patterns, this closes pocket opening.

Next Row. Work in pattern across row, ch 1, turn.

Next Row. WAISTBAND: * Single crochet (s c) in next 2 sts, skip 1 st, s c in next st, skip 1 st, s c in next st, skip 1 st, repeat from * across row, ch 1, turn.

Next Row. 1 s c in each st, ch 1, turn (120 s c). Repeat last row 8 times.

LEFT FRONT: 1st Row. Ch 2, d c in 1st st, * ch 1, d c in same space keeping last loop of d c on hook, skip 1 st, d c in next st keeping last loop of d c on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, repeat from * 17 times, ch 4, turn.

2nd Row. D c in last d c of previous row keeping last loop of st on hook, d c in next ch 1 space keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work 17 patterns, ch 2, turn.

3rd Row. D c in ch 1 space keeping last loop of st on hook, d c in next space keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work 16 patterns, ch 1, d c in same space as last st worked, ch 4, turn.

4th Row. Work in same manner as 2nd row, having only 16 patterns.

5th Row. Work in same manner as 3rd row, having only 15 patterns, ch 1, d c in same space as last st worked, turn.

6th Row. Slip stitch (sl st) to 2nd ch 1 space, ch 2, d c in next space, ch 1, work 13 patterns, ch 2, turn.

7th Row. Same as 3rd row, working only 11 patterns, ch 2, turn.

8th Row. D c in ch 1 space, ch 1, work 10 patterns, ch 2, turn.

9th Row. D c in ch 1 space keeping last loop of st on hook, d c in next space keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work 9 patterns, ch 2, turn.

10th Row. Same as 8th row, working only 8 patterns.

11th Row. Same as 9th row, working only 7 patterns.

12th Row. Same as 8th row, working only 7 patterns. Repeat 12th row twice, cut yarn.

RIGHT FRONT: With right side of work toward you, attach yarn in 1st st, ch 2, d c in same space, * ch 1, d c in same space keeping last loop of st on hook, skip 1 st, d c in next st keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, repeat from * 17 times, ch 4, turn, then work same as left front reversing the shaping.

BACK: With right side toward you, attach yarn in 37th s c (st already worked in), ch 2, d c in same space keeping last loop of st on hook, skip 1 st, d c in next st keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work 23 patterns, working the last pattern in st already worked in, ch 4, turn.

2nd Row. D c in last d c of previous row keeping last loop of st on hook, d c in next space keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work 23 patterns, ch 1, d c in same space as last st already worked in, ch 2, turn.

3rd Row. D c in ch 1 space, ch 1, work in pattern across row, ending with ch 1, d c in same space as last st already worked in, ch 2, turn.

Repeat last row twice.

Next Row. Slip st to 2nd ch 1 space, ch 2, d c in same space, ch 1, work 24 patterns ending with ch 1, turn.

Next Row. Slip st to 1st ch 1 space, ch 2, d c in next space, ch 1, work 22 patterns, ch 2, turn.

Work 7 rows even in pattern (22 patterns) cut yarn.

SLEEVES: 1st Row. Ch 40, join in 1st st of ch being careful not to twist work, ch 2, d c in same space keeping last loop of st on hook, skip 1 st of ch, d c in next st keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work in pattern all around, ending with ch 1, skip the ch 2 at beginning of row, join in 1st d c, ch 2, turn.

2nd Row. D c in ch 1 space keeping last loop of st on hook, d c in next space keeping last loop of st on hook, yarn over and work off all loops at one time, ch 1, work in pattern all around, ending with ch 1, skip the ch 2 at beginning, join in 1st d c, ch 2, turn.

Repeat 2nd row until sleeve measures 6 inches.

Next Row. Slip st to 2nd ch 1 space, ch 2, d c in next space, ch 1, work 15 patterns, join, ch 1, turn.

Next Row. Slip st to 2nd ch 1 space, ch 2, d c in same space, ch 1, work 12 patterns, join, ch 1, turn.

Next Row. Slip st to 2nd space, ch 2, d c in next space, ch 1, work 8 patterns, join, cut yarn.

Attach Blue at lower edge of sleeve, ch 1, work 28 s c, join in 1st st.

Next Row. Ch 1, turn, s c in each s c, join in 1st s c.

Repeat last row 8 times, cut yarn.

POCKET: With White ch 31, work first 3 rows in pattern same as on robe.

4th Row. Slip st to 1st space, ch 2, d c in next space, ch 1, work 12 patterns, turn.

5th Row. Slip st to 1st space, ch 2, d c in next space, ch 1, work 10 patterns, turn.

Continue in above manner until 2 patterns remain, cut yarn. Sew shoulder and underarm seams. Sew pocket in position. Sew sleeves in position.

COLLAR: With right side of work toward you, attach Blue in 1st st of 1st row of pattern above waistband and work 35 s c up right front, 15 s c around neck, 35 s c down left front, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn.

3rd Row. Skip 1 s c, 1 s c in each s c ending with slip st in last s c, ch 1, turn.

4th Row. Skip the sl st, 1 s c in each s c to within last st, sl st in last st, ch 1, turn. Repeat last row 8 times.

13th Row. Skip sl st, sl st in next s c, 1 s c in each s c to within last 2 sts, 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, ch 1, turn.

14th Row. Skip 1 sl st, sl st in next sl st, sl st in next s c, 1 s c in each remaining s c to within last 3 sts, sl st in next s c, sl st in next sl st, ch 1, turn.

Repeat 14th row twice, cut yarn.

Attach Blue in first row on wrong side of collar and work 2 rows of s c around collar, cut yarn.

BAND FOR POCKET: With Blue ch 17, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row. Skip 1 s c, 1 s c in each of the next 14 s c, 2 s c in last s c, ch 1, turn.

3rd Row. Work even in s c, ch 1, turn.

Repeat last two rows twice, cut yarn. Sew to front side of pocket opening as illustrated.

With wrong side of work toward you, attach White in 10th row of waistband, and work in s c down front, across lower edge, and up to the 10th row of band, working 3 s c in each corner, slip st in last st, turn. Work one more row of s c, cut yarn.

DOLL TRIMMING

Wind Blue over a 2 inch cardboard 40 times, tie with 6 inch length of yarn at one end for top of head. Tie securely about ½ inch from top of head for neck. Wind twice around and tie ¾ inch from neck for waist. Divide remaining yarn in half for legs and tie each section about ⅛ inch from each end, cut and trim for feet.

ARMS: Wind Blue over 2 inch cardboard 15 times, tie ⅛ inch from each end for hands, insert through center of body, cut and trim for hands. Work 1 more doll in same manner.

TIE: Using three 50-inch lengths of White, twist tightly, fold in half, and let twist itself. Finish one end with doll. Sew other end to waistband as illustrated.

Make another tie in same manner and sew to opposite side.
