MATERIALS: J. & P. COATS KNIT-CRO-SHEEN, 15 balls of White or Ecru, or 23 balls of any color.
Steel crochet hook No. 6.

GAUGE: Each motif measures 3¾ inches in diameter (from cluster to cluster). For a tablecloth about 60 x 80 inches, make 408 motifs.

FIRST MOTIF … Starting at center, ch 6. Join. 1st rnd: Ch 1, 12 sc in ring. Sl st in 1st sc made. 2nd rnd: Ch 4, 2 tr in same place as sl st, * ch 5, sc in 4th ch from hook (p made), ch 1, skip 1 sc, 3 tr in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join. 3rd rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, * tr in next tr, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, p, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join. 4th rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, * tr in next 3 tr, 2 tr in next tr, ch 9, skip p, 2 tr in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join. 5th rnd: Ch 4, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make tr in same place as sl st and tr in next 2 tr, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made), * ch 5, sl st in next st, ch 5; holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make tr in next 2 tr and 2 tr in next tr, thread over and complete cluster as before (4-tr cluster made); ch 6, in center st of ch-9 below make sc, ch 4 and sc; ch 6, make a 4-tr cluster over next 3 tr, making 2 tr in 1st tr and tr in next 2 tr. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-6 to tip of 1st cluster made.

SECOND MOTIF ... Work 1st 4 rnds as for 1st motif. 5th rnd: Complete 1st cluster as for 1st motif, sl st in tip of corresponding cluster of 1st motif, ch 5, sl st in next st on motif in work, ch 5, complete another cluster as before, sl st in tip of next cluster on 1st motif, and complete rnd as for 1st motif (no more joinings). Make 408 motifs in all and join them as in diagram for joining hexagon motifs, having 19 motifs from A to B, and 21 motifs from A to C.
