or "DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED
40 1-oz. Balls No. 1753 Dk. Nile.
11 1-oz. Balls No. 1731 Lt. Scarlet.
11 1-oz. Balls No. 1709 Amber.
11 1-oz. Balls No. 1717 Lilac.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 3 or 4.

Work 230 triangles in Green, 79 in Lt. Scarlet, 75 in Amber and 76 in Lilac.

Triangle--Ch 4, 2 dc in 1 st of ch, ch 3, turn.

2nd Row--Dc in same st, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in 4th st of ch, ch 3, turn.

3rd Row--Dc in same st, 1 dc in next dc, puff st in next dc (puff st, yarn over needle insert in next st, pull loop through, * yarn over needle insert in same st, pull loop through, repeat from *, yarn over and pull through all loops on needle but one, yarn over and pull through 2 loops) 1dc in next dc, 2 dc in 3rd st of ch, ch 3, turn.

4th Row--Dc in same st, 1 dc in next dc, 1 puff st in next dc, puff st over puff st, puff st in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in 3rd st of ch, ch 3, turn.

5th Row--Dc in same st, dc in next dc, 1 puff st in each of the next 5 sts, dc in next dc, 2 dc in 3rd st of ch, ch 3, turn.

6th Row--Dc in same st, dc in next dc, 1 puff st in each of the next 7 sts, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in 3rd st of ch, ch 3, turn.

7th Row--Same as 6th row having 1 puff st in each of the center 9 sts, ch 3, turn.

8th Row--Dc in same st, 1 dc in each of the next 13 sts, 2 dc in 3rd st of ch. Break yarn.

Arrange Triangles as illustrated in chart and sew them together.

BORDER. With Green work a row of sc around entire Afghan working a dc in center st between scallops on long sides.

Next Row--Work a puff st in each st.

Next Row--Work 1 dc between each puff st decreasing 1 st between scallops at long sides and increasing 1 st at each corner.

Next Row--1 puff st in each dc decreasing 1 st between scallops of long sides.

Next Row--* Ch 3, skip 1 puff st, puff st in next puff st, ch 3, skip 1 puff st, sc in next puff st, repeat from * all around.
