Ch 1, turn. Next row: Work in s c, increasing 6 sts on each front and 15 sts across the back (27 increases-161 sts in all). BODY PART: Work in the pattern as follows: ROW 1: Ch 4, * make 5 d c in first s c, drop loop from hook, insert hook through top of first d c and draw loop through this stitch (popcorn made); skip 4 sts, in next s c make - 3 tr c, ch 3, 3 tr c; skip 4 sts; repeat from * across row, ending with a popcorn st in last s c. 2nd row: Ch 2, * make 1 s c in joining st of popcorn in row below, make 1 s c in top of next 3 tr c, 3 s c over ch-3 space, 1 s c in next 3 tr c; repeat from * across row, ending with a s c in joining st of last popcorn. Now work in the pattern as on the body of the sweater, (6 shells-7 popcorn sts). Work until the sleeve measures 5 ½-inches from the underarm. Break yarn. Sew up sleeve. Make the other sleeve the same way.

NECK BAND: Tie yarn at the front neck edge; ch 4, make a popcorn into the first scan row below; * ch 2, skip 1 s c, 1 d c in next st, ch 2, skip 1 s c, 1 popcorn in next s c; repeat from * around neck edge. Break yarn.
