Doily measures 9 ½ inches in diameter.

Materials:

J. & P. Coats or Clark’s O.N.T. Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 20, White or Ecru.
Small Ball:
J. & P. Coats --1 ball,
Or
Clark’s O.N.T.--2 balls.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10.

Doily measures about 9 ½ inches in diameter.

Starting at center, ch 10, join with sl st.

1st rnd: Ch 5, * dc in ring, ch 2. Repeat from * 8 more times; join to 3rd st of ch-5 (10 sps).

2nd rnd: Sl st in next sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp as sl st; (ch 2, 3 dc in next sp) 9 times; ch 2, sl st in 3rd st of ch-3.

3rd rnd: Sl st in next dc, * ch 5, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 5, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around, ending with sc in sl st.

4th rnd: Sl st to center of 1st loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop, sc in same loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with sc in sl st.

5th rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch, ch 4, 2 tr in same loop; * ch 2, 3 tr in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, sl st in 4th st of ch-4.

6th rnd: Sl st in next tr, * ch 5, sc in next sp, ch 5, skip 1 tr, sc in next tr. Repeat from * around.

7th, 8th and 9th rnds: Sl st to center of next loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around; join. At end of 9th rnd ch 5, do not join but make sc in 1st loop.

10th rnd: Ch 4, 2 tr in same loop as sc, * ch 2, 3 tr in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, sl st in 4th st of ch-4.

11th rnd: Sl st in next 2 tr and in next sp, ch 4, 2 tr in same sp, * ch 3, 3 tr in next sp. Repeat from * around; join.

12th rnd: Sl st in next tr, ch 6 (to count as tr and ch-2), * tr in next sp, ch 2, skip 1 tr, tr in next tr, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Join to 4th st of ch-6.

13th rnd: Sl st in sp, * ch 5, sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, decreasing 3 sps at equal distances apart--to dec 1 sp, make sc in 2 sps, omitting the ch-5 between. Join.

14th rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch of 1st loop, sc in same loop, * ch 5, sc in next lop. Repeat from * around; join.

15th rnd: Sl st in next 2 ch of 1st loop, sc in same loop, * 5 dc in next loop, sc in next loop; (ch 5, sc in next loop) 9 times. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, sl st in 1st sc.
