MATERIALS: J. & P. COATS KNITCRO-SHEEN, 6 balls of Dark Yellow ... J. & P. COATS OR CLARK’S O.N.T. PEARL COTTON, Size 5, 2 balls of Black ... Bone Crochet Hook No. 6 ... ⅓ yard each of buckram and felt for lining ... 1 ½ yards of ribbon ...8 bone rings.

Use 4 threads throughout.

GAUGE: 4 sc make 1 inch; 4 rows make 1 inch.

BOTTOM ••• Starting at center with Yellow, ch 4. Join. 1st rnd: 8 sc in ring. 2nd rnd: (Sc 10 next sc, 3 sc in next sc) 4 times. 3rd to 14th rnds incl: (Sc in each sc to center sc of next 3-sc group, 3 sc in center sc) 4 times; sc in sc to end of rnd (27 sc between center sc of each 3-sc group on 14th rnd). 15th and 16th rnds: Sc in each sc around, ending with sc in center sc of last 3-sc group.

SIDE ••• 1st row: Work is now done in rows. Sc in each sc across to center sc of next 3-sc group. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in next 29 sc. Ch 1, turn. Repeat the 2nd row until 30 rows are complete. Break off. Make other three sides to correspond. With right side facing, hold 2 adjacent Sides together and, working through both thicknesses, make sc evenly across. Join other Sides in same way.

Cut a piece of cardboard to fit Bottom, then line bag with buckram and lining material.

RING (Make 8) ••• With Yellow, make 16 sc over each bone ring. Sl st in 1st sc. Break off. Sew 2 rings at center top of each Side 1 inch apart.

LARGE CIRCLE (Make 4) ••• With Black, ch 6. Join. 1st rnd: 10 sc in ring. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 3rd rnd: Sc in each sc around. Sl st in next sc. Break off.

MEDIUM CIRCLE (Make 4) ••• Same as Large Circle through first 2 rnds. Break off.

SMALL CIRCLE (Make 4) ••• Same as Large Circle through 1st rnd. Break off.

Sew a circle of each size to each side as in illustration. Draw ribbon twice through rings. Tie ends in a bow.
