J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5: 2 balls of No. 46-A Mid Rose and 1 ball each of No. 4-A Mid Pink and No. 48 Hunter's Green, or
J. & P. Coats "Knit-Cro-Sheen": 1 ball each of No. 46-A Mid Rose, No. 65 Beauty Pink and No. 48 Hunter's Green, and J. & P.
Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30:
Small Ball:
J. & P. Coats—1 ball of No. 9 Yellow, or
Clark's O.N.T.—1 ball of No. 9 Yellow, or
J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30: 1 ball of No. 9 Yellow, or
Clark's Big Ball Three Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30: 1 ball of No. 9 Yellow.
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
¼ yard of white organdy, 36 inches wide. 4 bone rings.

GLADIOLA (Make 5) ... Starting at center with Mid Rose, ch 10. Join with sl st to form a ring.
FIRST PETAL ... 1st rnd: Ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, half dc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, half dc in next 2 ch, sc in ring. Make 5 more Petals in same manner. Break off. 2nd rnd: Attach Mid Pink to last sc and work around Petal as follows: * Holding back on hook the last loop of each dc, make a dc in next 3 sts, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (2 dc decreased), dc in next 2 sts, half dc in next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts, at tip make sc, ch 3 and sc; sc in next 2 sts, half dc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, dec 2 dc, sc in the sc be­tween Petals. Repeat from * around remaining petals. Join and break off.
BUD (Make 3) ... 1st row: With Mid Rose, ch 4, in 4th ch from hook make 2 dc and 1 tr. Break off. 2nd row: Attach Mid Pink to last tr, ch 3, dec 1 dc as on Gladiola, ch 3, sl st in the tip of the decreased dc's, ch 3, sl st in next st. Break off.
LEAF ... With Green, make a chain to measure 6 inches. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch, half dc in next 2 ch, dc in each ch to within last 2 ch, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch. Working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in next 2 ch, dc in each ch to within last 12 ch, half dc in next 3 ch, sc in each ch to end of row. Break off. Make one more 6-inch Leaf, two 5-inch and two 7-inch Leaves.
STEMS AND CALYX ... With Green, make a chain to measure 7 inches. Tr in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, sl st in tr, ch 4, sl st in same place where tr was made, ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, ch 3, sl st in tr, ch 4, sl st in same place as tr, sl st in each ch across. Break off. Make 2 more stems and calyxes, having chain meas­ure 1½ inches.
STAMEN (Make 5) ... With Yel­low, * ch 9, ** (thread over, insert hook in 3rd ch from hook) 3 times; thread over and draw through all loops on hook (dc cluster made), ch 4. Re­peat from ** once more, ending with ch 6, sl st in first ch of ch-9. Repeat from * 3 more times. Break off.
Cut a piece of organdy 9 x 18 inches. Fold lengthwise into 3 folds. Sew long sides together. Tuck ends to measure 1 inch. Sew a bone ring to each end. Starch Flowers and Leaves heavily and press. Sew Flowers, Stems, Buds and Leaves in place on one end, arranging them as illustrated. Make another tie back in same way.
