TANK TRAY

Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "AUNT LYDIA'S" STAR SPUN, Article 235
3 skeins #2 Silver (White with Silver Metallic) or #1 Gold (White with Gold Metallic) or
"AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN, Article 235
3 skeins Lt. Yellow or color of your choice.
Aluminum crochet hook size G.
2 lengths medium wire 7 inches long.

Ch 61, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row. S c in next s c, 1 double loop st in each of the next 58 s c, s c in next s c, ch 1 to turn all rows. Directions for double loop stitch are given in directions for loop stitch rug.
3rd Row. 1 s c in each s c. Repeat the last 2 rows once.
6th Row. 1 s c in next s c, 1 double loop st in each of the next 3 s c, 1 s c in each of the next 52 s c, 1 double loop st in each of the next 3 s c, s c in last s c.
7th Row. 1 s c in each s c. Repeat the last 2 rows 7 times.
22nd Row. Same as 2nd row.
23rd Row. Same as 3rd row. Repeat the last 2 rows once, cut yarn.

SECTION STRIP: Ch 25, and working over a wire, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, cut yarn. Work another strip in same manner and sew in position as illustrated. If desired sew a strip of elastic underneath, and slip under lid of tank.

SEAT COVER

Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "AUNT LYDIA'S" STAR SPUN, Article 235
4 skeins #2 Silver (White with Silver Metallic) or #1 Gold (White with Gold Metallic) or
"AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN, Article 235
4 skeins Lt. Yellow or color of your choice.
Aluminum crochet hook size G or H.

If cover is desired without the double loop sts, work in same manner but work those rows in s c instead of double loop sts. Starting at lower edge, ch 26, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row. 1 s c in each s c, ch 1 to turn all rows.
3rd Row. Working in s c, increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row, then work 2 rows even. Repeat the last 3 rows 3 times, then work 1 more row even.
16th Row. Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row, then work 9 rows even.
26th Row. Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of row.
27th Row. Work even. Repeat the last 2 rows twice.
Next 3 Rows. Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of each row.
35th Row. Work even.
Next 3 Rows. Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of each row.
39th and 40th Rows. Decrease 2 sts at beginning and end of each row, without cutting yarn work a row of s c all around working 1 s c in each row on sides, 1 s c in each s c at top and lower edge working 3 s c in each of the 2 comers at lower edge, join in 1st s c, cut yarn. Attach yarn in center st at corner and working on wrong side, work 3 double loop sts in same space (double loop st: wind yarn over index finger twice, insert hook in st, draw yarn through pulling yarn from under finger, drop loops from finger letting loops fall to right side of work and complete s c), 1 double loop st in each st increasing in every 6th st on shaped sides and working 3 s c in center st at lower corner, join.
Next Round. 1 double loop st in each double loop st working 3 double loop sts in center st at the 2 corners at lower edge, join.
Next 2 Rounds. 1 double loop st in each double loop st across lower edge working 3 double loop sts in center st at each cor­ner, 1 double loop st in each double loop st on shaped sides in­creasing as necessary to keep work flat, join each round.
Next Round. Ch 1, turn and working on right side of cover, work 1 s c in each double loop st around curved sides, decreas­ing every 5th st across the straight side at lower edge, turn.
Next Row. Working around curved sides only, ch 3, skip 1 s c, s d c in next s c (s d c: yarn over hook, insert in st, pull loop through, yarn over and work off all loops at one time), * ch 1, skip 1 s c, s d c in next s c, repeat from * to same space at opposite corner, ch 3, turn.
Next Row. S d c in next s d c, * ch 1, s d c in next s d c, repeat from * to same space at opposite corner, cut yarn. Crochet a ch about 1½ yds. long and lace through last row of meshes.
