Aluminum Crochet Hook Size H OR ANY SIZE HOCK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW
Scraps of Black, White, and Red felt Kapok or Shredded Foam Rubber for filling

GAUGE: 3 s c = 1 inch

PAW: Ch 3, 2 sc in 2nd st from hook, 2 sc in next st, ch 1, turn. 2nd ROW: Work­ing in s c inc 1 s c at beg and end of row, cut yarn. Set aside.

BODY SECTION: Ch 12, 2 s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of next 9 sts, 2 s c in next st, ch 1 to turn all rows. 2nd ROW: Working in s c inc 1 s c at beg and end of row. 3rd ROW: Inc 1 s c at beg of row, work 1 s c in each remaining st, then work 1 s c in each s c of paw section—22 s c. 4th ROW: 1 s c in each s c. 5th ROW: Inc 1 sc at beg of row, and dec 1 s c at end of row (to dec: pull up a loop in each of 2 sts, yo and work off all loops at one time). 6th and 7th ROWS: 1 s c in each st. 8th ROW: Dec 1 st at beg of row.

START TAIL: NEXT ROW: 1 s c in each of the 1st 5 sc, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: Dec 1 st at beg of row. NEXT 2 ROWS: 1 sc in each sc. NEXT ROW: Dec 1 st at beg of row, and inc 1 st at end of row. NEXT 2 ROWS: 1 s c in each st. NEXT ROW: Dec 1 st at end of row, cut yarn. 9th ROW OF BODY SECTION: Attach yarn in same space as last st worked in of 8th row, dec in next 2 sts, 1 s c in each re­maining 14 sc. 10th ROW: Dec 1 st at beg of row, and inc 1 st at end of row. 11th ROW: Inc 1 st at end of row. NEXT 3 ROWS: 1 sc in each st. 15th ROW: Dec 1 st at beg and end of row—14 sc. 16th ROW: 1 sc in each st. 17th ROW: Repeat 15th row. 18th ROW: Dec 1 st at end of row. NEXT 4 ROWS: Repeat 16th and 15th rows twice—7 sts. 23rd ROW: Inc 1 st at beg and end of row. 24th ROW: 1 s c in each st. NEXT 2 ROWS: Inc 1 st at beg and end of each row. NEXT 3 ROWS: 1 s c in each st. 30th ROW: Dec 1 st at beg and end of row. NEXT 2 ROWS: 1 s c in each st. 33rd ROW: Repeat 23rd row. 34th ROW: 1 sc in each st. 35th ROW: START EAR: 1 s c in each of the 1st 4 s c, sl st in next s c, ch 1, turn. 36th ROW: Skip the sl st, dec in next 2 sts, 1 s c in each of next 2 s c. 37th ROW: 1 s c in each st. 38th ROW: Skip 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 2 s c, cut yarn. Skip next 3 s c of 34th row, attach yarn in next st, 1 s c in each of next 4 s c. NEXT ROW: 1 s c in each of next 2 sts, dec in next 2 sts. NEXT ROW: 1 s c in each st. NEXT ROW: 1 s c in each of next 2 sts, sl st in next st, cut yarn. Work another section.

FINISHING: Finish same as Toy Puppy Pattern.

EYES: Cut a Black circle, size of a dime, and a White circle slightly larger. Glue in position.

NOSE and TONGUE: Cut tongue and 2 dots for Nose from Red felt. Glue in position.

WHISKERS: Cut six 4 inch lengths of thread and stiffen with glue. Draw through sts above tongue. Trim as illustrated.
