Green, White and Red Bells
Material Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
STAR” CROCHET COTTON, Article 30, Size 30
or
STAR” TATTING CROCHET, Article 25
1 ball each White, Hunter Green and Bright Red
Steel crochet hook No. 13
¼ yd. narrow Red ribbon
1 small safety pin
If “STAR” CROCHET COTTON is used work with a single strand of thread. If “STAR” TATTING CROCHET is used work with a double strand of thread.
With Red ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd st from hook, do not join or turn this or following rounds. Place a marker at the beginning of each round.
2nd Round-2 sc in each sc.
3rd Round-* 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around. Work 7 rounds even in sc.
11th Round-Same as 3rd round. Work 1 round even, join, cut thread.
13th Round-Attach White and work 1 sc in each sc, join, cut thread.
14th Round-Attach Green, * ch 3, sl st in next st, repeat from * all around, cut thread.
CLAPPER-Cut about a 24 inch length of Green, ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd st from hook, join, pull thread through. Skip about ½ inch of thread, ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd st from hook, then crochet a chain about 1 ¾ inches long, cut thread. Draw chain through top of bell leaving clapper remain inside of bell. Work 2 more bells in same manner reversing the colors and working chains various lengths as illustrated. Sew the 3 chains together at top and finish with bow. Sew pin to back of bow.
