Collar & Cuff Edging Pattern

MATERIALS:
J. & P. Coats Tatting-Crochet, Size 70, 2 balls of Light Blue (No. 7), 1 ball each of Hunter's Green (No. 48) and Dark Yellow (No. 43) Steel Crochet Hook No. 14 … Organdie collar and cuff set.

FIRST FLOWER … Starting at base of flower, ch 6. Holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr make 2 d tr in 6th ch from hook, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (clus­ter made), ch 3, sl st in tip of cluster (picot made), ch 5, sl st in same place as cluster was made (petal completed), * ch 5, make a 2-d tr cluster in same place as last sl st, picot, ch 5, sl st in same place as last sl st (another petal). Repeat from * once more. Break off. Make necessary number of flowers to go along outer edges of collar and cuffs, allowing 1 inch between centers of flowers.

HEADING … Attach Green to base of flower, ch 5, make a 5-d tr cluster in same place (calyx), * ch 7, sl st in last picot of next flower, ch 7, make a 6-d tr cluster at base of next flower (another calyx). Repeat from * across.

STAMENS … Starting at base with Yellow, ch 9, * thread over, insert hook in 3rd ch from hook and draw loop through, (thread over, insert hook in same place and draw loop through) twice; thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 5, sl st in first ch made, ch 8. Repeat from * once more, thread over, insert hook in 3rd ch from hook and draw loop through, (thread over, insert hook in same place and draw loop through) twice; thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 5, sl st in first ch made. Break off.
   Sew stamens in place. Make similar stamens for each flower. Sew Edgings in place.
