MATERIALS REQUIRED — American Thread Company "Star"
Pearl Cotton Size 5.

2 Medium or 1 Large Ball, Lt. Pink or any Color desired.
1 yd. narrow ribbon.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 8.

Ch 18, 3 s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each ch to end, 3 s c in end ch, 1 s c in each st on other side of ch, join, ch 1.

Next Round—Increase 2 sts each end and work sides even. Work 5 more rounds increasing a sufficient number of times at each end to keep work flat, break thread.

Ch 26, and work 25 s c on ch, ch 1, turn.

2nd Row—1 s c in each of the next 12 s c picking up back loops of st only, 3 s c in center s c, 1 s c in each of the remaining 12 sts, ch 1, turn. Pick up back loops of st only in all rows.

3rd Row—1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn.

4th Row—1 s c in each s c, working 3 s c in center st.

5th Row—Work even.

Repeat 4th and 5th rows until there are 19 s c, 3 s c in center s c, 19 s c, ch 1, turn.

Next Row, 1 s c in each of the next 13 s c, ch 1, turn and work back and forth on these 13 sts until there are 32 rows.

Crochet or sew to front to correspond to other side.

Crochet sole to top on right side with a row of s c leaving opening for toe. Work a row of s d c around top with 1 ch between for beading and finish with a row of picots evenly spaced. Lace narrow ribbon through beading.

For a larger Bootie add a few more chs at the beginning.
