We suggest thread in sizes 10 to 70.
EDGING No. 8353A … Make hairpin lace for desired length. Fasten off. 1st row: Attach thread to 1st 3 loops (taking care to keep twist throughout), ch 3, thread over, insert hook through all 3 loops at once and make 2 d c, * thread over, insert hook through next 3 loops at once and make 3 d c. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. Attach thread to 1st 3 loops on opposite side, make 3 d c through same 3 loops, ** make 3 d c through next 3 loops as before, ch 10, make 3 d c through next 3 loops, 3 d c through following 3 loops. Repeat from ** across, ending with two 3-d c groups. Ch 1, turn. Next row: S c in 1st d c, * ch 5, in next ch-10 loop make s c, ch 5 and s c; ch 5, skip 4 d c, s c in next d c (2nd d c of center d c-group). Repeat from * across, ending with s c. Ch 1, turn. Following row: S c in 1st ch-5 loop, * ch 5, in next ch-5 loop make s c, ch 5 and s c; ch 5, s c in each of next 2 loops. Repeat from * across. Fasten off.
INSERTION No. 8353B … Make hairpin lace for desired length. Fasten off. 1st row: Work as for 1st row of edging. Attach thread at opposite side of hairpin lace and work to correspond with 1st row. Fasten off.
