INSERTION No. 8512A … 1st row: Ch 11, d c in 8th ch from hook, d c in next 3 ch. Ch 7, turn. 2nd row: D c in next 4 d c. Ch 7, turn. Repeat 2nd row for desired length, having an even number of loops on both sides of d c-strip. Do not break off, but work along 1 long side as follows: * In next ch-loop make 4 tr, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook (a cluster); ch 5, s c in 4th ch from hook (p), ch 1. Repeat from * once more, cluster in same loop, ch 5, s c in next loop, ch 5; in next loop make 2 clusters with ch-1, p and ch-1 between. Ch 5, s c in next loop, ch 5; in next loop make 3 clusters with ch-1, p and ch-1 between. Ch 5, s c in next loop, ch 5 and continue thus across. Ch 9, skip 3 d c at short end of d c-strip, s c in next d c, ch 9 and work along other long side in same manner. Fasten off.
EDGING No. 8512B … Work as for insertion, omitting cluster-groups on one long side, and making instead ch 5, s c in next loop all along side. Fasten off.
