Repeat from * around, ending with ch 1, half dc in first sc. 3rd rnd: * Ch 4, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, half dc in half dc. 4th rnd: * Ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, dc in half dc. 5th rnd: * Ch 6, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, dc in dc. 6th rnd: Ch 4, sc at base of dc, * ch 4, sc in next loop, ch 4, sc in next sc. OUTER RUFFLE ... 1st rnd: Sl st in next 4 tr, * 5 sc in next loop, ch 3. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-3 with sl st to first sc. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * (ch 5, sc in next sc) 4 times; ch 5, sc in next loop, (ch 5, sc in same loop) twice; ch 5, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-5 with sl st to first sc. 3rd to 7th rnds incl: Sl st to center of next loop, sc in same loop, * ch 6, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around. Join. 8th to 19th rnds incl: Repeat 3rd rnd, making ch-7 loops for 8th to 13th rnds incl, and ch-8 loops for 14th to 19th rnds incl. Break off at end of 19th rnd.

INNER RUFFLE ... 1st rnd: Attach thread to the right of the first sc on any loop on the 20th rnd of Doily, sc in same loop, * 3 sc between sc's of same loop, sc in same loop to the left of next sc, ch 3, sc in next loop to the right of next sc. Repeat from * around. Join. Starting with 2nd rnd work Ruffle as for Outer Ruffle until 13 rnds are completed. Break off.

   For a single ruffle doily 13 inches in diameter, work until 20 rnds are completed. Complete Inner Ruffle. Starch lightly and press.
