Make a 76-inch chain. 1st row: D c in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: * S c in d c, 2 s c in sp. Repeat from * across, ending with s c in 3rd ch following last d c. 3rd row: * Ch 2, skip 7 s c, make 6 d tr with ch-2 between in next s c, ch 2, skip 7 s c, s c in next s c (a fan). Repeat from * across. Ch 2, turn. 4th row: S c in 1st d tr of 1st fan; in next 5 sps make s c, half d c, 2 d c, half d c, s c (5 petals); s c in last d tr of same fan, ch 2, s c in 1st d tr of 2nd fan and make 5 petals; continue thus across. Fasten off.

   Cut linen 18½ inches square. Make narrow hem all around. Sew edging to linen, easing in at corners.
