MATERIALS:
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, size 50:
Large Cloth—32 balls of White or Ecru.
Medium Cloth—26 balls.
Small Cloth—22 balls.
Milward’s steel crochet hook No. 12 or 13.

GAUGE: Each motif measures 1¾ inches in diameter.

MOTIF … Ch 10, join with sl st. 1st rnd: Ch 3, 23 d c in ring. Join to 3rd st of ch-3. 2nd rnd: Ch 4, * d c in next d c, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-1 to 1st sp. 3rd rnd: Ch 10, * skip 1 sp, tr in next sp, ch 6. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-6 to 4th st of ch-10. 4th rnd: * Ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch, ch 2, d c in next ch, ch 2, s c in next tr. Repeat from * around; join. 5th rnd: * Ch 2, d c in next d c, ch 2, d c in ch-2 sp, ch 2, d c in next d c, ch 2, s c in next s c. Repeat from * around. Fasten off.

   Make another motif to 4th rnd incl. 5th rnd: Ch 2, d c in next d c, * ch 1, sl st in corresponding sp on 1st motif, ch 1, d c in next sp on second motif, ch 1, sl st in next sp on 1st motif, ch 1, d c in next d c on second motif, ch 2, s c in next s c, ch 2, d c in next d c. Repeat from * once more; complete rnd as for 1st motif.

LARGE CLOTH … (70 x 86 inches). Join strips as follows: * 1 strip of 48 motifs, 1 strip of 49 motifs, joining 2 points of each motif to 2 points of adjacent motifs as before. Repeat from * 21 more times; add another strip of 48 motifs (45 strips in all).

MEDIUM CLOTH… (60 x 80 inches). Alternate 20 strips of 45 motifs with 19 strips of 46 motifs, as for large cloth.

SMALL CLOTH … (54 x 72 inches). Alternate 18 strips of 40 motifs with 17 strips of 41 motifs, as for large cloth.
