MATERIALS REQUIRED:
4 balls 3 ply  baby yarn—½ oz. angora, 3 yds. ½" ribbon—3 buttons, No. 7 afghan hook.
For explanation  of afghan sts refer to Bonnie Lassie.
JACKET
    YOKE—ch 66.
    ROW 1—Draw up a loop in each ch—and work in  plain afghan.
    ROW 2—Draw up a loop through each upright of  row 1—making an inc after every 3rd st—(to make an inc draw up a loop through  the top st between 2 uprights) and work in afghan.
    ROW 3—Work in plain afghan. ROW 4—with angora—make a row of  sc-picking up the upright sts of row 3 and making an inc after every 4th st. ROW 5—Same as row 3—picking up the back  single sts of angora row. ROW 6—Inc  after every 5th st. ROW 7—Same as  row 3. ROW 8—Inc after every 6th st. Row 9—With angora—work in sc—st for  st. ROW 10—Same as row 3. ROW 11—Inc after every 7th st. ROW 12—Same as row 3. ROW 13 Inc after every 8th st. There  should be 22 inc in each of rows 2-4-6-8-11-13—making 198 sts in yoke. ROW 14—with angora—so—st for st.
    LEFT SLEEVE—Leaving 28 sts for front—pick up 41 sts  for sleeve and work back and forth in plain afghan for 22 rows. With angora—sc  across picking up the upright sts.
    CUFF—Work 4 rows of smocked afghan—skipping  every 4th st in the 1st row—with angora—sc across row. Seam sleeve on wrong  side with sc. Leaving 60 sts for back make the right sleeve same as left.
    BODY—Starting at left front of yoke work  back and forth completely around yoke in smocked afghan until body measures  6".
    NECK EDGE—make a row of sc—st for st—ch 4 turn, *skip  1 sc—dc in next—ch 1—repeat from *across row—ch 1 turn—sc in each dc and sc  under each ch 1 of preceding row. BREAK  YARN. WITH ANGORA—sc—around entire jacket—run ribbon through neck beading  and sew on buttons.
BONNET
    CROWN—ch 3 and join in ring.
    1ST RND—6 sc in ring.
    2ND RND—2 sc in each sc of previous rnd (no not  join rnds).
    3RD RND—*1 sc in 1st sc—2 sc in next—continue  from* around. Repeat the rnds. making 6 inc in each rnd until there are 11 sc  between each inc or 78 sc. With angora—sc around—st for st, then make 5 rows of  sc without inc—picking up only the back single sts of angora row.
    FRONT—Leaving 1 section of crown for neck—sc  across the other 5 sections with angora. Starting on right side work 9 rows of  plain afghan—then 1 row of sc—turn.
    TURNBACK—Picking up the back single sts of the  sc—work 3 rows of smocked afghan—then 1 row of sc. WITH ANGORA—Edge the turnback and face edge with sc.
    NECK EDGE—Make 2 rows of sc—across neck edge  skipping 3 sts—evenly across back in each row. Trim with bows.
