GAUGE: 8 sts = 1 inch; 6 rows = 1 inch.
RIGHT GLOVE—Back—With A, ch 33 loosely for cuff edge.
Row 1—Work 2 hdc in 3rd st from hook, * skip 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat from * to end.
Row 2—Ch 2, turn, 2 hdc in space between first 2 hdc (1 pat.), * 2 hdc in space between next 2 hdc; repeat from * to end; 11 pats. Repeat row 2 for pat. Work even until 37 rows from beg., about 6¼ ins.
Fourth Finger—Ch 2, turn, work pat. in each of first 2 pats. Ch 2, turn, work even on these 2 pats. for 2¼ ins.
Dec. row—Ch 2, turn, work 1 hdc in each pat. Fasten off. Join yarn at base of fourth finger, work pat. to end of row; 9 pats.
First Finger—Ch 2, turn, work 1 pat. in each of first 3 pats. Ch 2, turn, work even on these 3 pats. for 2¾ ins.
Dec. row—Ch 2, turn, work 1 hdc in first pat., 1 pat. in next pat., 1 hdc in last pat. Fasten off.

LEFT GLOVE—Back—Work same as right glove up to edging.
Edging—Beg. at cuff, on side with first finger, work 1 row sc on side edges and around fingers. Fasten off.
Palm—Work same as palm of right glove but do not turn thumb to other side.
Back of Thumb—Beg. at outer edge, on other side of foundation ch for base of thumb, work 1 pat. in same st with each of 4 pats. worked on ch. Finish as for front of thumb.
Edging—Beg. at cuff on side with 4th finger, work 1 row sc on side edges and around fingers. Work 1 row sc around each section of thumb.
FINISHING—With tapestry needle and B, sew back to palm, back of thumb to front of thumb, with an overcast st taking up top thread only. Steam.
With double strand B, beg. 5 pats. in from edge and 7 rows from base of finger embroider back of hand as illustrated.
