Pot Holders Pattern #4027

MATERIALS: J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5, 2 balls each of Ecru and Nile Green will make 2 pot holders ... Steel Crochet Hook No. 6 ... 2 bone rings.

Starting at center with Ecru, ch 6. Join to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 4, 27 tr in ring. Sl st in top st of ch-4. 2nd rnd: Drop Ecru, attach Green, ch 1, sc in same place as sl st, * 2 sc in next tr (an inc), sc in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join. 3rd rnd: Drop Green, pick up Ecru, ch 4, tr in next sc, * 2 tr in next sc, tr in next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Join.

Continue in this manner, working alternately in rnds of sc and rnds of tr, alternating colors and increasing 12 sts in each rnd, until piece measures 6 inches in diameter, ending with an sc rnd. Break off Ecru. Last rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * skip 3 sc, 9 tr in next sc, skip 3 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

Line wrong side with felt or lining material to within base of shells. Sew on bone ring. Make another pot holder same as this, reversing colors.
