11 skeins Gray for Large Rug.
6 skeins Gray for Small Rug.
1 skein each Red, Lt. Yellow and Dk. Green for either rug.

Aluminum crochet hook size H.

Directions are given for large rug. Small rug is given in brackets.

With Gray ch 96 (64), 2 d c in 4th st from hook, * skip 3 sts of ch, s c in next st of ch, ch 2, 2 d c in same space with last s c (shell), repeat from * across ch ending with skip 3 sts of ch, s c in last st, 23 (15) shells, ch 3, turn.

2nd Row. 2 d c in same space, s c in ch 2 of next shell, * ch 2, 2 d c in same space, s c in ch 2 of next shell, repeat from * across row, ch 3, turn. Repeat the 2nd row for entire rug working 6 (2) more rows Gray, 2 rows Red, 2 rows Gray, 2 rows Lt. Yellow, 2 rows Gray, 2 rows Dk. Green, 48 (32) rows Gray, 2 rows Dk. Green, 2 rows Gray, 2 rows Lt. Yellow, 2 rows Gray, 2 rows Red, 8 (4) rows Gray, ch 1, turn.

Next Row. * 1 s c in each of the next 2 d c of next shell, s c in ch 2 loop of same shell, s c in next s c, repeat from * across row 92 (60) s c, cut yarn.

FRINGE: Wind all 4 colors over a 5 (4) inch card¬board. Cut one end. Double 1 strand in half, loop through 1st st, draw ends through loop tightly. Repeat in each st across each short end working as follows: * 1 strand Gray, 1 strand Red, 1 strand Gray, 1 strand Lt. Yellow, 1 strand Gray, 1 strand Dk. Green, repeat from * across row.
