MATERIALS: J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN" or BEDSPREAD COTTON: Single Size Spread—70 x 108 inches (including fringe)—48 balls of White or Ecru, or 72 balls of any color, Double Size Spread—90 x 108 inches (including fringe)—60 balls of White or Ecru, or 90 balls of any color … Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

GAUGE: 7 sps make 2 inches; 7 rows make 2 inches.

STRIP … Starting at short end, ch 106 (to measure 10 inches). 1st row: Dc in 8th ch from hook, ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch (2 sps made), ch 1, skip 1 ch, 5 dc in next ch, drop loop from hook, insert hook in 1st dc of 5-dc group and draw dropped loop through (pc st made), ch 1, dc in next dc (pc bl made); dc in next 12 ch (4 bls made), 1 pc bl, make 5 sps, 1 pc bl, 5 bls, 1 pc bl, 5 sps, 1 pc bl, 4 bls, 1 pc bl, 2 sps. Ch 5, turn.

   Note: All pc sts must appear on the same side of Strip.

   2nd row: Dc in next dc (sp made over sp), ch 2, dc in next dc (another sp made over sp), ch 2, dc in next dc (sp made over pc bl), ch 1, skip 1 dc, pc st in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc (pc bl made over bl), dc in next 9 dc (3 bls made over 3 bls); (dc in next ch-1) twice; dc in next dc; ch 1, pc st in sp, ch 1, dc in next dc (pc bl made over sp), 5 sps; 1 pc bl, 3 bls, 1 pc bl, 5 sps, 1 pc bl, 4 bls, 1 pc bl, 3 sps. Ch 5, turn. Beginning with the 3rd row follow chart to top. Repeat 2nd to 17th rows incl until Strip measures 102 inches, ending with the 17th row. Break off.
   For a Single Size Spread make 7 Strips. For Double Size Spread make 9 Strips. Sew Strips neatly together on wrong side. Make a row of spaces across each short end.
