Doily measures 8 ½ inches in diameter.

Materials:
J. & P. Coats of Clark’s O.N.T. Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30.
Small Ball:
J. & P. Coats --1 ball of White of Ecru, or 2 balls of any color,
Or
Clark’s O.N.T. --2 balls of White, Ecru or any Color.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 5.

Completed Doily measures 8 ½ inches.

Starting at center, ch 8 and join with sl st to form ring.

1st rnd: Ch 4 (to count as tr), 19 tr in ring (20 tr in all). Join with sl st to 4th st of ch-4 first made.

2nd rnd: Ch 4 (to count as dc and ch-1), * dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st t 3rd st of ch-4 first made (20 dc with ch-1 between).

3rd rnd: Ch 4 (to count as dc and ch-1) * dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join as before (40 dc with ch-1 between).

4th rnd: Ch 5 (to count as tr and ch-1), * skip next dc, tr in next dc, ch 1, tr in same dc, ch 1. Repeat from * around, ending with tr in same st as ch-5 started. Ch 1 and join with sl st to 4th st of ch-5 first made ( 20 groups of 2 tr).

5th rnd: Ch 5 ( to count as dc and ch- 2), * skip ch-1 sp, dc in 1st tr of 2-tr group, dc in ch-1 sp, dc in next tr of same 2-tr group (3-dc group made). Ch 2 and repeat from * around, ending with 2 dc, thus completing last 3-dc group. Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch-5 first made.

6th rnd: Ch 6 (to count as dc and ch-3), * dc in each dc of next 3-dc group, ch 3. Repeat from * around, ending with 2 dc and sl st in 3rd st of ch-6 first made.

7th rnd: Ch 5 (to count as tr and ch-1), * tr in center ch of ch-3, ch 1, tr in first dc of 3-dc group, ch 3, skip center dc of same group, tr in next dc of same group. Ch 1 and repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, sl st to 4th st of ch-5 first made.
