Normandie Doll Pattern

For visitors arriving by ship at the ports of Le Havre and Cherbourg, Normandie represents the gateway to one of the most fabulous countries of the world. Here is a region which abounds in fame, history and interest.

To the student of history Normandie is a reminder of Rouen where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. The Abbey Mont Saint Michel and the Cathedral of Notre Dame are admired by the architect as classic examples of Gothic design. Yport is a lure to the artist seeking inspiration for his brush and canvas.

Rich in history and culture Normandie also enjoys a just reputation for its charming seaside resorts; among them is the celebrated beach of Deauville. This is the Province of the beautiful Alençon Lace and the delectable Camembert cheese.

Inland are peaceful pastures where the famous Norman horses graze. Little villages with white church steeples piercing upward into the morning haze are intermingled with farm settlements. Pushing up the Seine to Paris is a steady flow of barges bringing imports of the world to the discriminating populace of the great city.
