MATERIALS:
J. & P. COATS KNIT-CRO-SHEEN, 2 balls of any color.
1 yard of grosgrain ribbon, 1¼ inches wide.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 6.

Use 4 threads throughout.

Starting at center of top, ch 50. 1st rnd: Sc in 31st ch from hook, sc in next 19 ch, ch 30, sc in base of last sc made; then, working along opposite side of starting chain-, make sc in each of next 19 ch. 2nd rnd: (Sc in each of next 30 ch, sl st in each of next 20 sc) twice. 3rd rnd: (Sc in each of next 30 sc, sc in same places where each of next 20 sl sts were made) twice. 4th rnd: * Sc in 10 sc, (ch 1, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc) 4 times; ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in next 11 sc, sl st in next 20 sc. Repeat from * once more. 5th rnd: * Sc in 10 sc, (sc in sp, sc in dc) 4 times, sc in next sp, sc in 11 sc, sc in same place as each of the next 20 sl sts. Repeat from * once more. 6th rnd: (Sc in next 30 sc, sl st in next 20 sc) twice. 7th rnd: * Sc in 8 sc, (ch 1, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc) 6 times; ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in next 9 sc, sc in same place as each of the next 20 sl sts. Repeat from * once more. 8th rnd: * Sc in 8 sc, (sc in sp, sc in dc) 6 times; sc in next sp, sc in 9 sc, sl st in next 20 sc. Repeat from * once more. 9th rnd: Repeat 3rd rnd. 10th rnd: * Sc in 6 sc, (ch 1, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc) 8 times; ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in next 7 sc, sl st in next 20 sc. Repeat from * once more. 11th rnd: * Sc in 6 sc, (sc in sp, sc in dc) 8 times; sc in next sp, sc in same place as each of the next 20 sl sts. Repeat from * once more. 12th rnd: * Sc in 15 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in 14 sc, sl st in next 20 sc. Repeat from * once more. 13th rnd: * Sc in each sc to center st of 3-sc group, make 3 sc in center sc, sc in next 15 sc, sc in same place as each of the next 20 sl sts. Repeat from * once more. Sl st in next st, break off.

Make 2 chains each 10 inches long and fasten to each end for ties. Make 2 bows and sew to top as in illus­tration.
