Solid Mesh (S M). Four double crochet form 1 solid mesh and 3 d c are required for each additional solid mesh. Open mesh and solid mesh are used in Filet Crochet. To increase one mesh at end of row, ch 2, thread over 3 times, insert in base of last d c made, and work off all loops 2 at a time. To increase a mesh at beginning of row, ch 8 to turn and d c in 1st d c.
To decrease a mesh at beginning of row, sl st back over 1st mesh.
USE "STAR" or "GEM" MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON Sizes 30 to 50
Ch 11, d c in 8th st from hook, ch 2, d c in end ch, ch 7, turn.
2nd Row. D c in base of ch, 2 solid meshes, ch 2, thread over 3 times, insert in same st and work off all loops 2 at a time. Continue working back and forth according to diagram. Work a row of s c around motif.
