A piece of felt for lining.
Starting at inner edge with Dk. Yellow (or Orange), ch 43. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 30 ch, increasing 3 dc evenly across to inc 1 dc, make 2 dc in 1 ch half dc in next 2 ch, sc in next 6 ch, 2 sc in next ch. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each st across making 2 sc in top of starting chain. Ch 4, turn. 3rd row: 2 tr in first sc, tr in next 3 sc, (2 tr in next sc, tr in next 2 sc) twice; 2 tr in next sc, dc in next 16 sc, half dc in next 4 sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each remaining sc across, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each st across. LEAF (Make 2) . . . Starting at tip with Hunter's Green, ch 4. 1st row: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Dc in first dc, 3 dc in next dc, 2 dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Dc in first dc, dc in each dc across, making 3 dc in center dc of 3-dc group and 2 dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 4th row: Dc in first dc, half dc in next dc, sc in next 7 dc, half dc in next dc, 2 dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 5th row: Dc in first dc, dc in each st across, 2 dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 6th row: Dc in first dc, half dc in next 3 dc, sc in next 7 dc, half dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in top of turning chain. Break off. 7th row: Attach thread to first sc, ch 3, dc in next 6 sc. Ch 3, turn. 8th row: Skip first dc, dec 1 dc, dc in next dc, dec 1 dc, dc in top of turning chain. Ch 4, turn. 9th row: Skip first dc, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make tr in each dc and in top of turning chain, thread over and draw through all loops on hook. Break off.
STEM (Make 2) . . . Starting at long side with Green, ch 41. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, (ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc in same ch as last sc on foundation chain) twice; half dc in next ch, (dc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch) 17 times; half dc in next ch, sc in next 2 ch. Break off.
Cut a piece of felt slightly smaller than each pot holder piece. Sew in place. Sew pieces together at inner edge and about 1 ½ inches around small curved end. Sew a leaf to each side. Sew top of stem in place. Curve remainder of stem and sew to pot holder, leaving 2 inches free for loop. Sew free pieces of stem together.
