Fez Hat

This Fez and Bag can be made with:
“GEM” HAT and BAG YARN, Article 144.
2 skeins Dk. Green or color desired for hat.
4 skeins Dk. Green for bag.
1 skein White or contrasting color for hat and bag.
Aluminum crochet hook Size F.

FEZ

Top of crown. With Green ch 2, 8 s c in 2nd st from hook, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at the beginning of each round.

2nd Round. 2 s c in each s c.

3rd Round. * 1 s c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * all around.

4th Round. Working in s c, increase in every 3rd st.

5th Round. Increase in every 4th st.

6th Round. Increase in every 5th st.

7th Round. Increase in every 6th st. Work 1 round even, sl st in next 2 sts to even round, cut yarn.

Side of Crown. With Green, ch 56, join to form a ring by working 1 s c in 1st st of ch being careful not to twist ch, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, do not join this or following rounds.

2nd Round. 1 s c in each s c.

3rd Round. Working in s c increase in every 4th st.

4th Round. S c in next s c, drop Green, attach White (when changing color always complete last half of last st worked with next color), keep yarn not used to back of work, tr c in next s c, * with Green s c in next s c, with White tr c in next s c, repeat from * all around, cut White.

5th Round. With Green work 1 s c in each st.

Next 11 Rounds. 1 s c in each s c.

Next Round. Sl st in each s c, cut yarn.

Sew center section to top of outer section together on the wrong side.
