Popcorn Classic Hat

This Hat and Bag can be made with:
“STAR” BLEND YARN, Article 75.
2 skeins White for hat and
2 skeins White for bag.
1 skein each National Blue and Black or colors desired. Aluminum crochet hook size F.

HAT

With White, ch 2, 8 s c in 2nd st from hook, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at the beginning of each round.

2nd Round. 2 s c in each s c.

3rd Round. * 1 s c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * all around.

4th Round. Working in s c, increase in every 3rd st.

5th Round. Increase in every 4th st.

6th Round. Increase in every 5th st.

7th Round. Increase in every 6th st. Work 1 round even. 9th Round. Increase in every 7th st. Work 1 round even. 11th Round. Increase in every 8th st.

12th Round. Increase 4 sts evenly spaced. Work 7 rounds even, sl st in last 2 sts at end of last round to even round, cut yarn.

20th Round. Attach Blue in any st, s c in same space, d tr c (3 times over hook) in next st, * s c in next st, d tr c in next st, repeat from * all around, join, cut yarn.

21st Round. Attach White and work 1 s c in each st, join, cut yarn.

22nd Round. Attach Black in any s c directly above an s c of 20th round and work same as 20th round.

23rd Round. Same as 21st round.

24th Round. Attach Blue in any s c directly above an s c of 22nd round and work same as 20th round.

25th Round. Attach White in any st, s c in same space, 2 s c in next st, * s c in next st, 2 s c in next st, repeat from * all around, do not join this or following rounds. Work 9 rounds even in s c.

Next Round. * S c in next s c, decrease in next 2 sts (to decrease: insert hook in next s c, pull loop through, insert hook in next s c, pull loop through, yarn over and work off all loops at one time), repeat from * all around.

Next Round. 1 s c in each st, join, cut yarn leaving a length for sewing. Turn brim under and sew last round to last Blue round on inside of hat.
