These Hats and Bag can be made with:
“GEM” HAT and BAG YARN, Article 144.
2 skeins Turquoise or color desired.
2 yds. 1 inch grosgrain ribbon for either hat.
4 skeins Turquoise or color desired.
1 yd. 1 inch grosgrain ribbon for bag.
Aluminum crochet hook size G.
RIBBON CLOCHE
Crochet This Hat in 5 Hours
Ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 1, 10 s c in ring, join in 1st s c. 2nd Round. Ch 1, s c in same space, tr c in same space, (keeping tr c to front of work), * s c in next s c, tr c in same space, repeat from * all around, join in 1st s c.
3rd Round. 2 s c in each st, join in 1st s c.
4th Round. Ch 6, skip 1 s c, tr c in next s c, * ch 2, skip 1 s c, tr c in next s c, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 4th st of ch 6.
5th Round. Ch 1, s c in same space, 2 s c in next loop, * s c in next tr c, 2 s c in next loop, repeat from * all around, join in 1st s c.
6th Round. Ch 1, s c in same space, tr c in next s c, * s c in next s c, tr c in next s c, repeat from * all around, join in 1st s c.
7th Round. Ch 1, 1 s c in each st, join.
8th Round, Ch 5, skip 1 s c, tr c in next s c, * ch 1, skip 1 s c, tr c in next s c, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join in 4th st of ch 5.
9th Round. Ch 1, s c in same space, s c in next loop, * s c in next tr c, s c in next loop, repeat from * all around, join.
10th Round. Same as 6th round.
11th Round. Ch 1, s c in same space, 1 s c in each of the next 8 sts, 2 s c in next st, * 1 s c in each of the next 9 sts, 2 s c in next st, repeat from * all around, join.
12th Round. Same as 8th round.
13th Round. Brim: Same as 5th round.
14th Round. Same as 6th round.
15th Round. Same as 7th round. Repeat the last 2 rounds twice.
20th Round. Work even in s c, do not join rounds.
21st Round. * Decrease in next 2 sts (to decrease: insert hook in next st, pull loop through, insert hook in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and work off all loops at one time), repeat from * all around, join, cut yarn. Turn under and sew to last row of beading on wrong side. Lace ribbon through meshes and finish as illustrated.
