Plastic Square Bag
This Bag can be made with:
“GEM” HAT and BAG YARN, Article 144.
4 skeins Bronze Gold
1 ¾ yds. 1 inch grosgrain ribbon.
1 5-inch plastic square.
Steel crochet hook No. 1
Aluminum crochet hook size G.
With No. 1 hook, attach yarn in any corner hole of plastic square, 3 s c in same space, * ch 1, 2 s c in next hole, repeat from * to hole before next corner hole, ch 1, 3 s c in corner hole, continue all around in same manner ending to correspond, join in 1st s c.
2nd Round. Change to size G hook, ch 1, s c in same space, 3 s c in next s c, s c in next s c, then work 1 s c in each s c and 3 s c in each corner s c, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at the beginning of each round.
3rd Round. * S c in next s c, tr c in next s c (keep tr c to front of work), repeat from * all around.
4th Round. Tr c in next st, s c in next st, repeat from * all around. Repeat the 3rd and 4th rounds 9 times.
Next Round. Beading: Ch 7, skip 2 sts, d tr c (3 times over hook) in next st, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, d tr c in next st, repeat from * all around ending with ch 2, join in 5th st of ch 7.
Next Round. Ch 1, s c in same space, then work 2 s c in each mesh and 1 s c in each d tr c, do not join this or following rounds. Work 4 rounds even in s c.
Next Round. Same as 3rd round.
Next Round. SI st in each st, cut yarn.
Drawstring. Cut 2-30 inch lengths of ribbon. Lace ribbon through beading, lacing over 1 d tr c and under next d tr c starting each length at opposite side. Finish with metal tips if desired and knot ends together.
