DRITZ Metallic Yarn Art. No. 114, 2 tubes.
DRITZ Steel Crochet Hook No. 1.

SWASH SWAGGER HAT--No. 771

CROWN: Ch 2.

1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Mark last st of each rnd.

2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc (14 sc).

3rd rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc (an inc). Repeat from * (21 sc).

4th rnd: Sc in each sc increasing as necessary to keep work flat (about 7 sc). Repeat 4th rnd until there are 98 sc on rnd and piece measures about 6" across. Work straight until piece measures 5 1/2 from start.

BRIM: 1st rnd: Ch 2, * dc in 4 sc, 2 dc in next sc. Repeat from * (117 dc). Join with sl st in top of 1st dc.

2nd rnd: Ch 1, sc in same place as sl st, * ch 2, dc in same place as sc, dc in next 2 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * joining last shell with sl st in 1st sc (39 shells). End off, turn.

3rd rnd: Attach Metallic Yarn in 1st ch 2 sp of last rnd, ch 1, in same place where yarn was attached make sc, ch 3 and 4 dc, * in next ch 2 sp make sc, ch 3 and 4 dc. Repeat from *. Join (39 shells). End off, turn.

4th rnd: Attach Belastraw in 1st ch 3 sp of last rnd, ch 1, in same place where yarn was attached make sc, ch 2 and 3 dc, * in next ch 3 sp make sc, ch 2 and 3 dc. Repeat from * (39 shells). End off, turn.

5th and 6th rnds: Repeat 3rd and 4th rnds.

7th to 12th rnds incl: Work as before, only, having 1 more dc in each shell on each rnd.

Turn brim up in front.
