DRITZ Steel Crochet Hook No. 1.
Braided Ribbon Trim.
GAUGE: 5 sts make 1".

SPRING SONG HAT--No. 773

CROWN: Ch 2.

1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Mark last st of each rnd.

2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc (14 sc).

3rd rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next (an inc.). Repeat from * (21 sc).

4th rnd: Sc in each sc increasing 9 sc evenly (30 sc).

5th rnd: * Count back 3 sts, insert hook in corresponding st 3 rnds below and pull loop through to height of last sc, y o and draw through the 2 loops on hook (a long st made), skip 1 sc in next 5 sc. Repeat from * (5 long sts).

6th, 7th and 8th rnds: Sc in each st increasing 8 sc evenly on each rnd (54 sc on 8th rnd).

9th rnd: Repeat 5th rnd (9 long sts).

10th and 11th rnds: Sc in each st increasing 9 sc evenly on each rnd (72 sc on 11th rnd).

12th rnd: Repeat 5th rnd (12 long sts).

13th, 14th and 15th rnds: Repeat 6th rnd (96 sc on 15th rnd).

16th rnd: Repeat 5th rnd (16 ong sts).

17th, 18th and 19th rnds: Sc in each st (96 sc).

20th rnd: Repeat 5th rnd (16 long sts).

21st to 27th rnds incl: Repeat 17th to 20th rnds incl. once then repeat 17th, 18th and 19th rnds once more.

28th rnd: Sc in each sc increasing 12 sc (108 sc).

29th rnd: Repeat 5th rnd (18 long sts).

30th to 33rd rnds incl: Repeat 17th to 20th rnds incl (18 long sts).

34th rnd: Sc in each st (108 sc).

BRIM: 1st rnd: Ch 2, * dc in 3 sc, 2 dc in next sc. Repeat from * (135 dc).

2nd rnd: Sc in each dc. Join with sl st in 1st sc. Ch 1, turn.

3rd rnd: Sc in each sc. Join and end off.

Brush Brim lightly with sizing and flute edges. When dry, trim with braided ribbon or as desired.
