COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. "SPEED-CRO-SHEEN" MERCERIZED COTTON, Art. C.44: 3 balls of No. 131 Fudge Brown.
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 0 (zero).
3 coat hangers.

Starting at narrow edge with Fudge Brown, make a chain 3½ inches long. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across until row is long enough to reach snugly around hanger, having an even number of sc. Cut off remaining chain. Place loop on hook on a safety pin. Drop Brown. 2nd row: Attach a double strand of Mid Rose to back loop of first sc, place Brown strand across top of row and, working over this strand, ch 1, sc in back loop of same sc, * sc at base of next sc (long sc made), sc in back loop of next sc. Repeat from * across to within last sc. Insert hook at base of last sc, draw loop through, insert hook through loop on pin, thread over and draw through all loops on hook, thus securing loop. Place loop on hook on pin. Drop Mid Rose and place across top of row. 3rd row: Draw a loop of Brown through back loop of first sc and, working over Mid Rose, ch 1, sc in back loop of same sc, * make a long sc by inserting hook between bars of next long sc, sc in back loop of next sc. Repeat from * across to within last sc, make a long sc in last long sc, securing loop on pin as before. Drop Brown. Pull a loop of Mid Rose through back loop of first sc and continue working as for 3rd row, alternating colors and working over unused color until piece is long enough to reach across hanger. Break off. Insert hanger hook through center of piece. Sew long edges neatly together. Sew ends together. Make 2 more covers the same way, using Canary Yellow for Second Cover and Robinette for Third Cover instead of Mid Rose.
