Distinctive Edging Pattern #8516
Materials:
We suggest thread in sizes 20 to 60.
FIRST MOTIF … Ch 8, join with sl st. 1st rnd: Ch 1, 12 s c in ring; join. 2nd rnd: * Ch 5, tr in next 3 s c, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a cluster); ch 10, s c at tip of cluster, ch 5, s c in next s c on ring. Repeat from * around. 3rd rnd: * 5 s c in next ch-5, 17 s c in ch-10 loop, 5 s c in next ch-5. Repeat from * around. 4th rnd: Sl st in next 2 s c, * s c in next 3 s c, skip 1 s c, s c in next sc, (ch 5, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c) 7 times; skip next s c, s c in next 3 s c, ch 5, skip next 4 s c. Repeat from * around. Fasten off.
SECOND MOTIF … Work as for 1st motif to 3rd rnd incl. 4th rnd: Sl st in next 2 s c, * s c in next 3 s c, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c; (ch 5, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c) 7 times, skip next s c, s c in next 3 s c, ch 5, skip next 4 s c. Repeat from * once more, s c in next 3 s c, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c; (ch 5, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c) 3 times, ch 2, s c in corresponding center ch-5 loop on 1st motif, ch 2, skip 1 s c on 2nd motif, s c in next s c and finish as before. Work in this manner for desired length.
HEADING … 1st row: Attach thread to wrong side of 4th ch-5 loop at one end, ch 9, skip 1 loop, s c in next loop, * ch 6, d c in loop between s c-groups, ch 6, skip 1 loop, s c in next loop, ch 6, skip 1 loop, d c in joining, ch 6, skip 1 loop, s c in next loop. Repeat from *. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: * 6 s c in next sp, s c in next st. Repeat from *. Ch 4, turn. 3rd row: * Skip 1 s c, d c in next s c. Ch 1. Repeat from * across. Fasten off.
