BASE—With Blue, ch 8, join with sl st to form ring. ROW 1—Ch 3, 17 dc in ring, join to top of ch-3. ROW 2—Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around, join. ROW 3—Ch 3, dc in same st, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around, join. ROW 4—(Sc in 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) 10 times (63 sc). Join. Fasten off.
LARGE PETAL—With Blue, ch 26, sc in 2d st from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, tr in next 15 ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in end ch. Working on other side of ch, make hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch, tr in next 15 ch, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, join with sl st in 1st sc. ROW 2—Ch 3, (dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st) 3 times, dc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next st, (sc, ch 4, sc) in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next 3 sts, (dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st) 3 times, dc in next 6 sts. Fasten off. Make 16. Sew 9 around edge of Base. Sew remaining 7 to Base just inside 1st row.
SMALL PETAL—With Blue ch 21, sc in 2d ch from hook, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 12 ch, hdc in next 3 ch, sc in next ch, 3 sc in end ch. Working on other side of ch, make sc in next ch, hdc in next 3 ch, dc in next 12 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next ch, join with sl st in 1st sc. ROW 2—Ch 1, (hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st) twice, hdc in next 6 sts, sc in next 3 sts, (sc, ch 4, sc) in next st, sc in next 3 sts, (hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st) twice, hdc in next 7 sts. Fasten off. Make 9. Sew to Base just inside 2d row of petals.
CUP—With Yellow, repeat Base thru Row 3. ROW 4—Ch 3, dc in same st, (dc in next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeated around (60 dc). ROW 5—Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join. Repeat Row 5 four times (thru Row 9). Fasten off. Edge—Join Blue to 1 dc, (ch 5, sl st in next dc, ch 1, sl st in next dc) repeated around. Join and fasten off. Sew bottom of Cup to center of Base. Dip Nut Cup in medium thick, hot starch. Wipe off excess. As starch dries, arrange petals and cup in even shape. Beginning with inner row of Small Petals, and working out to outside row, bottom of petals can be tacked to bottom of cup to help hold them in position.
