FRONT (All sizes)—With A ch 4, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 4 sc in next ch, 1 sc in last ch. Row 2—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, slip st in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in last sc of row. Row 3—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc to 1 sc before center slip sts, 2 sc in this sc, slip st in each of next 2 slip sts, 1 sc in each sc to end, 1 more sc in last sc. Rpt row 3 until 13 rows. Row 14—Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, ch 1, turn, working back, work 1 sc in each of last 5 sc made, ch 1, turn, working back, work 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each sc to slip sts, slip st in each of 2 slip sts, 1 sc in each sc to end. Rpt row 14 nine times. Row 24—Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, work 3 sc, ch 1, turn, work 5 sc, ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, ch 1, turn, work 10 sc, ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each sc to slip sts, work 2 slip sts, 1 sc in each sc to end, 1 more sc in last sc. Rpt row 24 three times. Mark with thread first and last sc of row 27. Row 28—Ch 1, turn, draw up a loop in each of first 2 sc, yo, draw thru all 3 loops on hook (a dec.), 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, ch 1, turn, work 5 sc, ch 1, turn, work a dec., 1 sc in each of next 9 sc, ch 1, turn, work 10 sc, ch 1, turn, work a dec.. 1 sc in each sc to slip sts, work 2 slip sts, dec. over next 2 sc, 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc, dec. over last 2 sc. Rpt row 28 seven times. Row 36—Ch 1, turn, dec. over first 2 sc, 1 sc in each st across. Rpt row 36 until 1 st remains. Fasten off. With B starting at marked sc and working toward point of last row, work 1 sc in end of each row, 3 sc in point, 1 sc in end of each row to other marked sc then ch 3, turn and work [1 dc and ch 3] in back loop of each sc just made (thus leaving front loops free for later use), turn, work [1 dc and ch 3] in free loop of each sc just used (thus making a double ruffle). Fasten off. Sew Front to front of sole, having center of row 1 at front center of sole and having marked sts about half-way along sole. Put Slipper on foot. Draw sides tight around instep and tack securely at top of instep. Turn pointed tip down toward toe and tack. HEEL & TIES—With triple strand of B ch for 12 inches, fasten off. Ch another 12 inches, fasten off. Sew one to each side of sole about 2 inches forward of back end. WELT—With triple strand of B ch enough to go around entire sole, fasten off. Sew all around sole. Darn in all ends.
